Festival of Colors and PROM!!!

Kassidy and some of her roommates came down on Saturday to attend the Krishna temple Festival of colors.
Thousands of people attend. It is a festivity where colors are thrown on each other......here is the finished product!!!!!

I didn't want them all coming through the house once I saw how colorful they were!!! Shopvac didn't do much for them either!!!


Out comes Audrey!! She was over at her BFF's for a minute just before her date was to arrive!! Kassidy wanted to hug her.....nope, no go!!

We got Audrey's dress at Dillards. She loved it and she looks so pretty in it!!! Something simply yet very beautiful on her!!

Okay, now for the story Issac has been so excited for prom via Audrey. He has talked about it all week with her which makes it so fun for her!!!
Friday night Audrey had a girls night.....they did nails and mud masks and watched a chic flick....Well, Tyler (good friend of Audrey's came over also.....although he is still 15 so he wasn't going to prom!!!) They had a great time!!!!
Audrey had a lady in our ward do an updo for her hair. She loved it!!!.....Then Audrey went to get her dates flower and she saw his sister at the floral shop.....Issac had gone to get the car washed....big van to haul a lot of people in. Well he hit something so now there is a ding in the front panel.......maybe just a little on the nervous and a little on the excited side of things!!!




Issac arrived just as Audrey was going in the house and she started to come out and I told her to get back in the house because he was going to go in and get her...

He did a great job on putting the flower on her wrist......
(isn't her hair pretty!)



Audrey didn't do too bad with the flower either.....Never having done this before!!! She said she had to redo it a couple of times during the night, but she watched a lady at the school redo her sons so she was confident how to get it back on without poking Issac and having it stay on his jacket!!



See that bag Audrey is carrying....not really a going to prom bag...although she is a smart girl....she has her flats in it......she didn't want to be dancing in her heels and have her feet hurt all night!!!!

Notice Issac...he is reaching in his pockets.....all of them...(not at the same time)......his phone is ringing in the van......where are the keys?????? Not in the pockets and not on my counter......oh there they are....in the locked van!!!!!
Oh, it was funny and Audrey was laughing right along with us. Issac kept his cool but I heard him saying......this is not good!!!!

Oh, but it was funny!!!! Laugh with me as I am typing this and remembering it all vividly!!! Audrey was such a good sport, also!!






Okay....see the window on this van door....it pushes out!!!!! Issac was so happy it was not latched!!! He pried it open then jumped in to get the keys!!! All was well!!!!



Picture time!!!! It so happens that Audrey's BFF was getting picked up at the same time so we got pictures of them together!!!! (they were not in the same group)
They were standing all rigid and I told the boys to put their arm around the girls and act like they knew them....Issac pulled her close!!! It was another funny moment for me to watch!!!






Guy in the middle would be a friend of Audrey's since we moved here......He is the one who wanted to ask Audrey to Prom but he was about 2-3 hours too late!!! (they haven't picked his date up yet)

Side note.....boy on the left would be Zac.....he was Audrey's first date!!! Oh, another side note....Audrey has been out with all three of these boys!!



And off they finally go!!!!!

After picking up all rest of the girls and guys, they all went to the promenade and then they took pictures. Audrey said it took almost 2 hours....hmmm...
Dinner was at the green church by our city center. Some of the boys parents cooked the dinner for them.....salad, chicken cordonblu and dessert. They all raced back to our house because the girls were suppose to be watching the YW broadcast...they were only an hour late but we DVRd it......The girls did not want chairs to sit in....nope they all just plopped down in the giant bean bags......8 girls......
Well.....the boys did not know the girls had started the broadcast at the beginning and so they all showed up just after 7:30 to pick them up......the girls still had 45 minutes left (they fast forwarded through the singing parts)....the boys were being so noisy that the girls decided to just watch the rest another time and off they all went.....
Of coarse I was watching out the front window and I saw the 3 vans fill up.......I was watching as Issac went to the drivers side of the van and Audrey to the passenger side.....I was thinking....he didn't open her door.....Just then his arms fly up and around the van he goes to open her door!!!! Oh I laughed again!!!
Audrey had a fabulous time!!!!! She came home with a mile long grin!!!!!! After the dance was over they all went to one of the boys house where they partook of a chocolate fountain. Audrey would say.....this is next to my last strawberry!!!!!
She loved her prom date.....Thanks, Issac, for taking such good care of my girl!!!

Oh to just catch up.....

I have been told to catch up on my blog.....I am not so good at uploading pictures...I need to learn and then remember how to do it!!

February brought us Audrey turning 16!!! Can you believe it....my little girl is old enough to date and old enough to get her license (she still needs a few hours before she has her 40 hours required to get her license). Audrey had a fun party filled with fun and friends and a lot of laughter!!! Only a week later she had her first date!!!! The lady I work with in the nursery has a 16 year old son and we set them up....okay so they have been friends since we moved here, but still!!!! They went on a double date to Red Robin (chicken bruschetta is a fabulous choice). After roaming the mall, taking fun pictures and then getting some yummy ice cream she arrived back home......I might I say with all smiles!!!!! Oh she had such a great time. I also heard from her dates mom that he had such a good time he so wants to do it again!!!
February was a big month for Audrey. She also competed in the regional competition for a violin solo.......she is now headed to STATE!!! Great job!!!! She competes April 24th against the best in the state. Okay so I really don't like competition, but this is something that she loves doing, you know, therapy kind of.....when she is stressed or bummed or whatever, she pulls out her violin and plays!!!
ALSO......Audrey applied for the opportunity to go to HOBY (hugh o'brian youth leadership) conference. The school sends 2 sophomores every year. You have to write an essay, fill out an application and then the committee talks to your teachers......WAY TO GO she was chosen to attend. It is in May for a couple of days at Aspen Grove, which is by Sundance. She is so excited!!!!!!
Okay.....so now, Audrey has also been asked to Prom. It is the end of the month. The boy that asked her is a junior and he is in a couple of her classes. Very nice boy I am told..... Audrey was called down to the counselors office where she proceeded to pop balloons that were on a wall. They had different saying in them as well as glitter and confetti.....POP, BANG, etc. Until she found the question asking her to go to Prom......Audrey answered him by send our Highway Patrol friend to the school with a warrant for him. It listed a lot of things he had to do.....treat her with respect, make sure she is home on time so we don't have to use the guns we just cleaned, make sure she has a great time....and so on.... At the bottom it said something of the sort....Audrey would love to be "caught" going to prom with you. The teacher got a hold of it and read it to the class. Audrey was also nominated to be in the sophomore prom royalty. She was in the top 20 now the top 5 and the students vote again for the top 3. We'll see where she ends up. She says she doesn't care if she is not in the top 3, because here it is her first date dance and she is just excited to go to prom!!!!!
WOW....see it was a huge month for Audrey!!!!

Kassidy is still plugging along at BYU, very anxious to be finished with the semester. She has been volunteering for her major, trying to get her arms around what her life will be like for the next few years!! She also signed a contract for spring/summer and fall/winter semesters. So she will be moving out of the dorms into apartments at the end of the semester. She is excited about this change and excited for the break. She has been going to school since the beginning of her senior year. She plans on getting a job......smart plan!!!
At the end of winter term, Kassidy is flying to Washington with one of her roommates to be there for just over a week. She is so excited for this trip......oh the fun times of college life!!!!!!!
Kassidy also had Audrey over to her place in February for a sisters weekend.....the fun they had!!!

Zachary is just about finished with the paperwork for his eagle. It has been reviewed once and needs some minor changes....then off to reviews again!!! What an accomplishment this will be when all is said and done!!! Zach loves the Percy Jackson movie the Lightening Thief......he loves mythology and the stories behind all of the Greek Gods. Zach is still writing his stories....I think it is therapeutic for him!

Emily is loving life and counting down days until she is a double digit!!!! The warm days find her outside playing and enjoying her vitamin D.
Emily's teacher paid her such a sweet compliment this week. She said Emily has been a best friend to a student in her class that has a learning disability, a big one. (At the beginning of the semester she was asked to be her peer tutor). The teacher said that Emily has gone beyond and she has a special place in the friends heart and a special place in her teachers heart. She said a lot more than this, but it was so sweet and kind and it did my heart and Emily's heart good to hear it!!

I had some skin cancer removed from beside my nose at the beginning of the month. Doctor was happy to get it all out and says I will probably get more....nice thought don't you think!!! He is pleased with how it all went though!!!!

Kevin and I are planning a work trip to China for the beginning of May. We are excited to go and hope our visas come back with no problems!!!

Okay....so that is about all we have to say......I know a huge month for Audrey and the rest of us were just kind of in the background, but that is just how it goes some days!!!!!
