Congrats, Way to Go and may the force be with you!!!

Last night, Kassi was made president of her high schools National Honor Society. She will be working with another girl in this position. Kassi was jr vice president last year and did a great job!! We are so proud of her and the hard work she does. Way to go, sis!!!

Such a "sweet" thought!!!

As most know, my son is diabetic......so here goes the story!!
Last night we were starting our FHE and we were talking about my son's very high number, wondering what he ate to achieve such a large blood sugar number wondering if the Kool-aid affected him that much....and this sweet girl here starts her story!
It goes something like this......
Well, yesterday (saturday) she tried to make sugar free kool-aid for her brother. (Now, she is 8 and loves to make kool-aid, that is after we had to instruct her on which pitcher to use for how many envelopes and how many cups of sugar!) She said she made it for him....and it was horrible. First she put the kool-aid in the pitcher, added the water, stirred it and then poured her and her friend a glass. It was bad she said! So she then added sugar to her cup and her friends and then to the pitcher of kool-aid. She told us sugar free kool-aid was gross!!! We laughed so hard because she had never been taught that it is a separate kind of kool-aid! What a sweet heart to think of her brother!!!

A bit of information about our trip!!!

How I managed it I have no idea......but I did!!!!
First in line we were in our turn stile!!!!!! The lines were long to get in, well, considering they only had a third of them lined up at. I went and asked if any of the others would be used and I was told yes, number 8 would be opened also......HHHEEEHHEEEE!!! Front of the line we were!!!
Kassidy said I got 50 bonus fun mom points!!



Our first ride was Splash Mountain!!!





And we all got wet!!!!!
Well, first of all because we went on it 3 times in a row!!!!



We love Buzz lightyear!!!!! Kevin was the all time winner with his highest score of 362,000!!!! Yep, you read it right (considering the ride was stopped for a minute while we were shooting away!)
I can't even count how many times we went on this ride!!






Now, this is my favorite ride.....I know it is not the fastest, but I love it just the same. Always have, always will!!
I was turned around in my seat snapping pictures (and slipping from side to side as we went around the corners!) Zach was afraid I would lose the camera. He kept telling me to make sure it was tight around my wrist!

Everyone, except grandma, went on space mountain so many times!!!!
Emily loved it, this being her first trip to go on the ride!




Tea cups, who can resist them?????? Well, the answer would be Kevin!!!
The kids wanted to spin fast so grandma, grandpa and myself went on another as we watched the kids spinning!!






We only went on Dumbo one time. I think the kids did it for nostalgic reasons!!



Can I just say I am not too excited about teaching this one to drive!!
She was hilarious. She would want to go one way but the track would bounce (or throw) us in the opposite direction!! Her comments while driving just kept making me laugh. Then when we were getting ready to stop, she kept telling me not to get so close and to slow down!






We had a fun filled morning at the character breakfast in the Plaza Inn in Disneyland. Grandma and Grandma treated us to the memorable morning!









Chip is counting on his 8 fingers how old Emily is!!!

This would be on thursday night as the kids were walking in front of us. I kept snapping pictures and then I called them and they all turned around!!


WOW!!! The kids loved this ride and went on it so many times...
in the middle, in the back and in the front!!!
California Screamin!






On our last day we started at California Adventures. We hit the grizzly river rapids ride and made our way around to the stinger. Now, while 3 of the kids were on the ride for their second time, I was running off to go and get fast passes for Screamin'. My mom calls my cell phone and tells me to "reverse direction immediately". I am thinking one of the kids puked on a ride or got hurt and she just keeps repeating herself. Finally I ask her if it the fast pass guy and for the 5th time she tells me, "reverse direction immediately!" So I am now running to them. Lo and behold there is our hero of the day, Chris! Mind you now, I still have 3 kids on the ride. There are only 200 passes per park given out a day and this is the busiest day of the week, Friday. When the ride was over, Kevin and Audrey are at the exit telling the others to hurry up......as you can tell by the picture, we were SSOOOOOO happy for our dream passes. The kids had a list of things they wanted to do on their last day and we were going to try to get them all done, so all in all, I can say the passes were a blessing from heaven. My mom was hurting so bad by the end of the week and we were all tired but the fun we had that last day!!!!

We are back.....

We had a great time together in California with my family and my parents. The kids got along, the weather was great, the lines weren't bad and we did all we wanted to do...... It was 5 full days at Disneyland and a lot of great memories, too. Here are a few pictures we got from the Disney photographers. I will post some I took later along with a little bit of info....

The chain is getting shorter!!

On Sunday we pull out of here for a fun filled 5 days at Disneyland! The youngest two made a paper chain for a count down, something they do every time we go. The kids are on spring break all week!! My parents are meeting us out there and we are all so excited. I found this great deal on Disneyshopping.com......they had their graphic tees for $4.99 each and I got a code from my parents for 25% off so the shirts were $3.75. Needless to say we all have a disney shirt for everyday we are there. Crazy as it is.....I still get excited about going. It must be from the great times I had going there as a kid and now taking my owns kids is so much fun. Truly a great family vacation tradition I brought into the marriage!!

Chewacla

On Saturday, after Kevin's meeting (which meant the end of his conference), we went to Chewacla state park. It was beautiful. It had been raining all day and so the colors really stood out. We went to see a couple of small water falls, although the water was very dirty looking, it was still beautiful. I love the green and I love seeing new things. Once again my camera was snapping!! This afternoon excursion was great.....no one was around and it was just the two of us.

































Well, this is the end of my pictures from our get-away! On Saturday night we found a place that made some southern cookin food.....fried pickles, barbeque, fried chicken, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, tater salad and baked apples....it was so yummy!!!

Eufaula, Alabama

I loved this day!! Well, it would have been perfect if Kevin was with me, but once again he was stuck in meetings while I was able to fulfill one of my dreams........to see a plantation home in the South. In fact, I was able to see numerous ones. Seeing the movie, Gone with the wind, put the thought into my ever increasing "wish to see or do" list.
The homes were beautiful, restored to their time period. Most of the out buildings were destroyed by the union,or tornadoes, but most of the houses were saved. It was a great day!

Callaway Gardens

While Kevin was going to meetings all day on Thursday, I went on a jaunt with some of the other ladies......
I absolutely loved the gardens. The azaleas were in bloom and it was beautiful to me. I will post some of my favorite pictures. I was always in the back of the pack....snapping the camera button continually. I loved it, truly it was beautiful.
It is mostly a natures garden covering 13,000 acres. There was also a few observatories with arranged flower beds. I love flowers so I was loving this. We were drizzled on, a mist of sorts. It didn't bother me at all, although some of the ladies did complain. I just told them I would probably never get to come back so it was not going to affect me at all.
