The love of my life!!!!!

What more can I say!!!
Kevin loves me so much he went to the Jelly Belly store in Sacramento this week and brought me home almost 9Lbs of Jelly Bellies!!!!!
I was so excited....yummmmy.
I got belly flops, which are the deformed ones that didn't pass on good behavior!! But the ones he chose for me, out of the 168 flavors there,were:::: pomegranate, berry smoothie, pina colada, cream soda and the new cold stone ice cream parlor flavors..including my fave birthday cake!!
Oh my...I am in heaven!!

FULL MOON!!

My children love the water......
On Wednesday afternoon our youth went boating. That would include 3 of my children. They went to Utah lake and there were 3 boats. Kassidy was on one of them and Audrey and Zach on another. The kids had a great time. However, Kassidy flipped over the back of the tube she was on and landed on her neck. Thankfully all she had was a sore neck. Other than that, the kids came home at 10:30 pm telling us how much fun they had.....
And now, this is how the full moon story goes. On pulling into the no wake zone to get to the dock, Zachary, a neighbor girl, Kaylee, and a member of the bishopric, Scott, were on a tube. As the boat slowed down, Zach was pushed in the water (by Kaylee) and Scott (who at one time was Zach's scout leader) slid into the water while holding onto the tube. Scott pulled himself back up. Kaylee was trying to pull Zach back on the tube and while doing so Zach's swim trunks slid down. Kaylee is turning her head, trying to pull Zach up and yelling for him to pull up his trunks. Well Zach is holding onto the tube so he can't. Needless to say the swim trunks didn't get pulled up until he was safely back on the tube......but not soon enough. He had mooned all of the fisherman on the bank who were watching.

Emily went fishing last night with her best friend, Jolene. The story goes as follows......
Emily, Jolene and Jo's parents went to Salem pond for a little fishing excursion (above picture is not salem pond, it is Payson Lake). Anyhow, Emily casts her line and says, "that was a bad cast!" and so she reels it in.....with a fish on it!!! She caught 3 fish last night and was so excited!!

Row, Row, Row Your Boat!!

When I was a freshmen at BYU, I attended the summer semester first. This was back in 1987. I took 2 classes, freshmen English--I got a C+, and Canoeing---I got an A+. Fast forward to the spring semester of 1991. Now I was pregnant with my oldest child and Kevin decided to take canoeing. Yep, he did great. We have been canoing with friends and family in our 18 years of marriage, always having a great time together. Last night we took the plunge and bought a canoe. Our kids were so excited. We live close to 2 lakes that are up the canyon. Only non motorized boats are allowed on these quiet lakes. I think we are going to have so much fun together.....

EFY!!!

Audrey and Kassidy had a great time at EFY this year. They went up to Rexburg, Idaho to BYU-I. The session started Monday and they were picked up on Saturday. They have talked nonstop about their adventure!! The withdraws have taken place, where they wish they were still there among the great friends they made. They say the classes were great and so were the dances!! Kassidy's group took first place in the spirit competition in her age group and Audrey's group took second in her age group. The boys were plentiful and there are some definite crushes!! Audrey is looking forward to going again next summer, whereas Kassidy hopes to be going to BYU next summer!!!

Go True Blue!!

For our adventure today we headed to BYU. We have my nephew staying the week with us so we thought we would do something different.....they have been swimming in the pool all week!! There were 6 kids in all....two of mine, my nephew and 3 neighbor kids.
We went to the fine arts museum, looked at all of the statues across campus, went to the bookstore and then took a break at Kevin's office. We had a picnic lunch. I thought we would all eat on the grass but after the kids saw the conference room with the huge table, they voted to stay and eat there. After lunch we headed over the the "dead animal museum". The kids had a really good time there. They took a survey among themselves.....if the animals were to come to life, which one would you want to be near. I said I would just run. Most of the kids said the birds or the fish and the giraffe....forget the bears, moose, tigers, lions, rhinos, skunk........ We ended the day with going to the BYU creamery for some yummy ice cream!!

Let's go fishing!!

Payson lake is so beautiful. It is up the Nebo loop and it only takes 30 minutes to get there from our house.
Monday evening we went up with some friends to have a hot dog roast and to go fishing..

Although, while a friend was casting, the lure got stuck in the tilting tree.....
It was the second lure of the night to be lost!!
To no avail, Kevin was not able to untangle it from the tree.




While all of this was going on.....Emily and her BF yelled that they had caught a fish. Emily was holding the rod while Jolene was reeling it in!!!



This is how they carried the fish all the way back to the picnic area....


Cleaning the fish was not their favorite thing to do....but they loved eating it.



I hope we are able to do a lot more fun family outings this summer!!!!


Zach did not catch any fish, he was just along for the moral support. Kassidy was attending a leadership conference at Utah State where she was able to meet Elder L.Tom Perry. She had a great time......
This week's adventures will consist of the two older girls going to EFY in Rexburg and having one of our nephews from Boise come and hang out with Zach.....

Nursery at last!!!!

It is such a long story, I will try to make it short for you though. I am in the nursery at church on Sunday's. Kevin usually helps out when I need him to....which is often because I love being around him. Kevin is always volunteering to be put in the nursery. When ever they have been short on people, Kevin always goes. He has told the primary he wants to be in there but the bishop just won't do it....
Well, Kevin got a call from the bishop telling him he was meeting with the stake president to be released. He has been the executive secretary for 5 years now. Well, Kevin asked the bishop if he would put him in the nursery. Bishop told him the new bishop would have to decide where he goes. Well, on wednesday we met with the stake president and he asked me what my calling was.....I rattled off the 3 I have telling him I want released from one of them. He asked if one of them was the nursery.....NO!! Take me off of the stake YW camp committee.......well needless to say I am staying with all 3 for the time being. I told the stake president that Kevin wants to go in the nursery with me...then the bishop tells the stake president that Kevin told him he wants the nursery calling. Well we ended our meeting and as we were all leaving (the whole bishopric and wives were in this meeting), the stake president told our bishop he wanted to talk with him and his wife....no rest for the weary. While he was getting his new call, the stake president told the bishop he could put Kevin in the nursery if he wanted to. SO yesterday before church Kevin told me that in bishopric meeting bishop told him he was getting called to the nursery. Kevin was so excited!!!!! Now.....the new bishop won't be sustained until father's day.....so at the beginning of church Kevin was asked to stand and this is what happened........We call Kevin Miller to be the nursery leader, all in favor........the congregation LAUGHED!!!!! Have you ever heard a congregation laugh when someone is being called to a position. It was so funny!! Kevin had a huge grin on his face. He has been lobbying for this calling since before he was put in the bishopric. Kevin calls it his golden parachute. Someone asked him how he got the calling and he told them "I gave 5 years of my life". Bishop told the stake president that the congregation laughed and the stake president got a good chuckle out of that.........

So much going on.....yet it is summer!!

Kevin and Zach went on a scout camp out last weekend. Zach earned his pioneer merit badge.

As of monday I am no longer babysitting. It was a sad good bye. Annie didn't want to leave. When her mom was holding her, she reached for me and didn't want to go back to her mom.
I cried, all of the kids did (well Zach was gone to the camp out already when they left).
We have just grown to love those kids so much. Kevin on the other hand was glad I was finished.
We have enrolled in the summer program at the library. Hopefully it will keep the kids busy and remind them to read!! They have incentives to do it so we will have to see how it goes!!

Yesterday we spent the day in SLC. Zach had an appointment at the endocrinologist and so we all went. The doctor is so pleased with how Zach is handling his diabetes! His HbA1C was 7.1!!!! Yippeeee!!!!!!! That is such good control for a type 1 diabetic!! His doctor is incredible and cares so much about his patience!!!
We then all went to Temple Square and watched the Joseph Smith movie. The older girls have seen it, but the rest of us had not!! We loved it. It was so good!!
We went to the church museum also. Audrey loves museum and thought we were moving way too fast for her!!

Anyhow, that is the start of our first week of summer!!!!
